Simple, economical data/video setup-AiM Solo 2 DL/SmartyCam HD 2.1

The way AiM equipment is modular and “networked,” it’s easy to mix and match a few key components to make up a system that is most closely tailored to your needs.

For some drivers, a simple display of lap times, predictive lap timing (whether they’re faster or slower than before, anywhere on the circuit, judged against the best previous lap in the session) and simple measures like speed, track position, lap time analysis and g loadings can provide a lot of information.

Couple this with an automated 720P HD camera, one that records these measures ONTO the video, real-time, so you can watch “intelligent video” right after you get out of the car, and this is a very powerful and useful solution.

While designed primarily for modern cars with electronic control units (ECU) or OBDII information present at a standardized plug, even older, historic cars can benefit from this simple pairing of a logger/display, the Solo 2 DL, and the high definition “smart” camera, the SCHD HD Rev2.1 or the “bullet camera” version, the V2.2 GP
